my name is moog hadidi
I was born in Irbid,Jordan, April 10 1968. I am a
self taught artist and I work primarily with Berol Prismacolor pencils, using
lead pencil to sketch out the beginning of each drawing. I like perspective
and twisting it a little bit. Sometimes I like to use well-known themes but
usually I like to make up my own stories. That way you have more control over
what the image is trying to say. I feel like any style of character goes when
it comes to getting the feeling across. Recently, i began to include poems
that go along with the drawings to give it more of a twisted nursery rhyme
feeling. So far, i have 31 drawings completed, with 16 poems to go along.
1993, is when i began to take this illustrative direction with my drawings.
There is a more traditional style that i have been dabbling with using oil
pastels, which i hope to transform into alot larger paintings on canvas in the
future. This style involves alot more of a stream of thought method, where i
just lay the colors and movement down without any pre conception.
At this point in the game, for me, i am doing art festivals around texas,
including the armadillo christmas bazaar, and hope to start branching out my
show circuit nationally. Each year more prospects and ideas come in, so who
knows where this road will take me?
