Cathartic Aestheticism
Cathartic Aestheticism embodies the experiential attitudes of the action painters, yet provides within the confines of the canvas a theatre of self-examination, discovery and healing. The artist, in a state of emotional elation or turmoil, seeks to restore balance through manipulation of shapes, shades and colors. Truthful cathartic expression visually rendered can also be visually altered. As a conduit for interpretations of the collective soul, the artist translates noumenological propensities into pictorial representations, unconstrained by space or time. These cathartic renderings assist in establishing closure to personal and metapersonal gestalts through the artist's quest to achieve beauty.

UltraRealism
UltraRealism transcends the actual image by exceeding it, by superfying aspects that would otherwise be perceived as common, ordinary or proper. UltraRealism superealistically extends known boundaries of subject matter and accentuates inherent characteristics to create larger-than-life portraits. Visual appearances in space and time are enhanced through interpretation, increasing the range of, and propensity for, the viewer's appreciation. UltraRealism makes the ordinary extraordinary, the unusual more unusual, while preserving the integrity of the original image.
When the eye focuses on an object, that which is adjacent and beyond the object appears in lesser clarity. The greater distance from the focal point of the object, the less distinct the focus. In this way, UltraRealism embodies the natural focal characteristics of the human eye and thus, most truly represents the way we visually perceive the world around us.
